سامسونگ به تازگی بزرگترین کارخانه تولید گوشی های هوشمند در هند را راه اندازی کرد. این کارخانه در شهر نویدا قرار گرفته و وعده داده تا سالانه 120 میلیون گوشی هوشمند را به تولید برساند. هند یکی از بازارهای بزرگ مصرفی گوشی های هوشمند است و بیش از 400 میلیون کاربر فعال دارد اما هنوز بیش از یک میلیارد نفر جمعیت دارد و این بدان معناست که این کشور هنوز پتانسیل کاربران بیشتر را دارد.
براساس گزارش مؤسسه‌ی تحقیقاتی IDC، میزان عرضه‌ی گوشی‌های هوشمند در هند طی سال ۲۰۱۷ بالغ بر ۱۲۴ میلیون دستگاه بوده است؛ بنابراین واحد تولید جدید سامسونگ، می‌تواند پاسخگوی بخش بزرگی از نیاز بازار هند باشد. البته باید در نظر داشت که این اتفاق بالافاصله رخ نخواهد داد چرا که کارشناسان باور دارند سه سال طول می‌کشد تا این کارخانه بتواند ۵۰۰۰ نفر کارمند مورد نیاز خود را استخدام کند تا بتواند تولید گجت‌ها را به بیشترین حد ممکن برساند.
در روز افتتاح بزرگترین کارخانه ساخت گوشی هوشمند سامسونگ، مدیر عامل کل مجموعه سامسونگ و همچنین نخست وزیر هند حضور خواهند داشت که نشان‌دهنده عظمت این پروژه است. سامسونگ اکنون دو کارخانه و پنج مرکز تحقیق و توسعه در کشور هند دارد.
